Help Protect Hearts in Ireland

We are taking part in 12 Dips in December to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and we'd love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

In August 2005 I received the greatest gift, of a second change with a Heart Transplant.        At two weeks old I was diagnosed with Dilated Cardiomyopathy and LV non compaction.                                                           I waited on a transplant list for 5 months, not much of what I remember but a tough 5 months for my mam and dad.                               On the 3rd of August just after midnight we received ‘ The Call ’.                                              After my parents just being over in Great Ormond Street durning the day, they were back on our way way to Great Ormond Street London, this time with me and for what we had been waiting for for 5 months.                             

After spending 3 weeks in Great Ormond Street we returned to Crumlin Hospital, where I have been attending ever since.             Currently I am 19 and my heart is still doing well nearly 20 years later.                                     I am doing this fundraiser to raise awareness of heart disease and for everyone currently waiting for a new heart, battling heart disease and for the friends and families who have lost loved ones or who are the friends and families of those who have donated their organs to selflessly save the lives of so many.         

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.
