September 60km

This September, I’m taking on the challenge of walking and running 60km in support of the Irish Heart Foundation.

I’m doing this because heart disease and stroke have touched the lives of so many people around me. Like many families, we’ve seen first-hand the impact they can have. A close friend’s mother suffered a major stroke, and five years ago my partner experienced a TIA (transient ischaemic attack). Thankfully, he recovered, but it was a reminder of just how suddenly these conditions can affect anyone.

Every step I take throughout September is for those who have faced heart disease or stroke, those who are recovering, those we’ve lost, and the families who support them every day.
