The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Final Day

Monday 30th Jun
Unfortunately due to heavy rain this evening,Mollie and I haven't had a chance to go for a walk.Thrilled, however,to have already reached ,and slightly exceeded ,the 100km target. We've walked 104.22 km, and raised €252.So very grateful to family and friends who have donated so generously and supported us throughout the month. We've posted our Kms walked and shared our fundraising page on Facebook, and also kept this record of our distances walked.

Day 28.Wexford

Sunday 29th Jun
Spending the day visiting family in Wexford.Mollie didn't come,so we're planning on doing a few extra Kms tomorrow to finish the fundraiser with a flourish.Have already completed 104.22 km.

Day 27.Beach walk.

Saturday 28th Jun
Lovely evening walk on Castlerock beach.A lot of people around making the most of a sunny Saturday evening.

Day 26.

Friday 27th Jun
It's been a busy day with a number of commitments,so Mollie has had another day off from her personal trainer duties. She's 'helped' me in the garden though, which tired her out.

Day 25.

Thursday 26th Jun
Mollie had another day off today and much needed down time. Her exertions throughout the month have definitely caught up with her.

Day 24.Mollie had a day off ❤️

Wednesday 25th Jun
As we had reached our 100km target, yesterday,Mollie had a very well deserved day off, today. She spent most of the day snoozing and is now ready to play! Planning to add more Kms to our total, with walks between now and the 30th.

Day 23.We've done it!!!

Tuesday 24th Jun
Shorter late evening walk. We've reached ( slightly exceeded) our 100km target. So proud of Mollie, who has been a fantastic 'personal trainer'.She deserves a day off tomorrow, but we'll keep recording our walks until the end of the month.

Day 22. We're almost there!

Monday 23rd Jun
Really lovely leisurely walk in the forest this afternoon.Mollie was in her element, and did a lot of rolling ( not sure in what!) and sniffing. She's been snoozing off and on,most of the evening. We have less than one and a half km to do to reach our target ,so will have that done tomorrow.

Day 21.Cooler!!

Sunday 22nd Jun
Late evening walk around the town.Thankfully much cooler than earlier in the day.Mollie and I are looking forward to reaching 100km ,and more, this week.

Day 20.

Saturday 21st Jun
Mollie has had to take another day off because of the heat. She's spent most of the day snoozing and recharging her batteries,so we can reach our 100km in the next few days.

Day 19.

Friday 20th Jun
Mollie had a well deserved rest day today, because of the heat.We have just about 12 km to go to reach our goal,so we're looking forward to achieving that in the next few days.

Day 16

Tuesday 17th Jun
Morning walk around Portballintrae and along part of the tramway.Mollie was meeting and greeting people ( and dogs) along the way,and managed to get plenty of attention and a few strokes too.We finished off our walk with a leisurely paddle in the River Bush.

Day 15.Evening walk

Monday 16th Jun
Lovely late evening walk around town.Thankfully cooler than earlier in the day.Met a few other dog walkers along the way.

Day 14.Father's Day

Sunday 15th Jun
Lovely forest walk in Co Tyrone, this morning.Had gone to pay our Father's Day respects to my late father, and take flowers for his grave.A lovely forest on the outskirts of the village,so decided to have a walk, while remembering happy times with him, mum, and the wider family.

Day 13.More rain!

Saturday 14th Jun
Mollie's had a day off again because of the weather. So disappointed not to have added a few more kms to our total, but we still have plenty of time left to make up for it.

Day 12. Dodging showers!

Friday 13th Jun
Leisurely walk in a different part of our local forest this afternoon.Had sun and showers, and Mollie spent a lot of time sniffing, and rolling ,though dread to think what it was she was rolling in!! Thanks to three generous donations this morning,we have reached, and exceeded our fundraising goal!!!!

Day 11. Rain....again!!

Thursday 12th Jun
Mollie had a rest day today because of the rain.Hasn't eased all day, though we escaped the thunder that was originally forecast.
We'll be back on track again from tomorrow.

Wednesday 11th Jun
Morning forest walk accompanied by our great friend Margaret, and her dog Murphy. We're now passed the half way point of our km target, as well as receiving another generous donation, bringing us close to our initial target amount!!

Day 9.The sun is back!!

Tuesday 10th Jun
Lovely leisurely walk this morning, around Portballintrae.Mollie had a fantastic time making friends with cows and sheep along the way.Finished off our walk with a paddle in the river.Mollie's having a well earned snooze.

Day 8.Rain!!!!

Monday 9th Jun
Rained all day today,so Mollie had a day off.All being well,we will make up for it tomorrow and do some extra kms.

Friday 6th Jun
Mollie had a day off from walking today. It is my late mum's birthday today and Mollie and I took family flowers for her grave.
Remembering mum, and happy times together. She is my motivation for completing the fundraiser, and for raising funds to support the Irish Heart Foundation,in her memory.❤️

Day 4

Thursday 5th Jun
Lovely sunny evening walk in Springwell Forest.A few other dog walkers around, but otherwise a beautiful quiet place for a walk, and to appreciate our surroundings and the wildlife.

Day 3

Wednesday 4th Jun
Longest single walk, for this fundraiser,to date.Gorgeous scenery and fantastic views of the Giant's Causeway and North Coast.Mollie in her element, both walking, and making friends with other walkers, and tourists.Joined on our walk by a great friend, Margaret, and her dog Murphy.
