Walking, Running & Jogging for the Hearts that Can't

I am taking part in 60 in September to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.
We are here for every heartbeat.

Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

Three's Company!

Tuesday 15th Sep
Day 15! And I'm over half way through my 60km 😊 A lovely walk with Ray & Olivia today (who refused to get in a photo) x

Monday's

Monday 14th Sep
Day 14, done!

Sunday Vibes

Sunday 13th Sep
Day 13! Don't think the weekends are ever chill vibes! X

Neuro Fatigue!

Saturday 12th Sep
Day 12! Not much today, will make up for it in the coming days. I can't even begin to describe neuro fatigue properly, it is the most debilitating thing I have ever experienced. I sleep soundly for 10 hours and wake up exhausted, it's just so hard to explain. I live my life planning and pacing my days and it still doesn't help! X

Mental Health

Friday 11th Sep
Day 11! I attend a creative art class every 2nd week as part of my mental health care. Today was the first class back after summer break and I loved it, even pulled thre Baking skills out and made chocolate brownies for everyone x

Rest Day

Thursday 10th Sep
Day 10. Wrecked today, day of appointments so I took a rest afternoon so today's km's are purely just steps. Back at it tomorrow x

Back to reality

Wednesday 9th Sep
Day 9. Back to reality with the kids back to school, a day spent trying to get through long awaited paperwork and try to keep moving x

Solo

Tuesday 8th Sep
Day 8. First solo walk in a long time today, all went fine, stick kept me balanced, got out early x

Family

Monday 7th Sep
Day 7! Starting to reap the rewards of living in the same village as family. Got out for a quick walk on our way over to see our niece before her debs, lovely evening x

New Beginnings

Sunday 6th Sep
Day 6! Kilcoole became our new home 6 months ago and I'm now starting to venture out and see different parts of it. It's actually beautiful and quite a peaceful part of the world xx

Great Company

Saturday 5th Sep
Day 5! 2.08km today but the biggest achievement was i got my teenage daughter to come on the walk with me and i even got her to agree to a selfie!

Life!

Friday 4th Sep
Day 4! Didn't imagine 4 days ago that I'd feel guilty not getting outside for a walk! A day full of appointments and stuck in the car but managed keep moving as much in general. Walks outside again tomorrow x

Mr Motivator!

Thursday 3rd Sep
3.2km today! Since day 1, April 24th 2023, Ray has had my back, cared for me (still does), loved me, annoyed me and is always encouraging me! Ray has seen my decline over the last year and still tries to push me through it. To try and help me get back to more movement and mobility Ray is walking with me everyday and encouraging me with every step xxxxx

Push through

Wednesday 2nd Sep
Day 2, up at 5.30 for an appointment, lashing rain! Destroyed with fatigue when I got back, had a rest, determined to get out for a quick walk by 2pm otherwise it wouldn't have happened! Anyway I got there, another 2km! X

Moving

Tuesday 1st Sep
Day 1, I know 2km is not much for most but for me, it's a starting point again! Walking stick out, it'll help build my stamina and confidence after another fall in July. Hoping I'll get better and faster as the month goes on x
