Running for the Hearts that Can't

I am taking part in RUN 100 to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

Mission accomplished!!

Friday 27th Feb
I am delighted to report I have achieved 100km for Irish Heart Foundation during the month of February. Thans to all my sponsors who helped me to raise over 600€...I enjoyed it and intend to continue this achievable heart fit regime. A bientòt!

Nearly there

Monday 23rd Feb
5 days left in February..84km completed..16 km to go.. I have jogged ( little enough due to my sportsworn 72 yearold knees), walked and golfed my way through the wettest Feb for a long time. I'm definitely fitter and am delighted with the Contributions for a grrat cause. I'm a Cardiac srrest survivour so am eternally thankful to the Cardiac team in CUH and all the services who saved me and helped me over the last 7 years.. This little amount will aid the Irish Heart Foundation. See ye at the end this week!!

Golfing this morning and working the Allotment in the Afternoon

Monday 16th Feb
I am well over halfway thru the Feb. 100km challenge. I thought I could perhaps jog more, but an old knee injury reared up and reminded me not to jeopardise my Golf ;-)
Thanks again to all of you who sponsored me. I haven't aggressively pursued sponsorship and am very happy I exceeded my target.

One week into the 100 km challenge

Sunday 8th Feb
33 km completed. Yesterday the 7th was my most Active day...4 km walked in the morning..paused and then went to the big hurling match between Cork and Tipp and walked 5km to and from the Park among the 31,000 crowd..what a buzz and what a result! Up the Rebels!!

Very Wet day..waited till evening and walked 4.5km

1st Day..St Bridgets day

Sunday 1st Feb
Well I've started! Today I ran/ walked 5.19 km. It was tough but rewarding. Looking forward to tomorrow. Tried ro upload pics to my page but it wont take the photos from my phone..it says they are too small. Frustrating.

Last week of Training before the 100km Feb Run.

Sunday 25th Jan
The last week now before I run/ jog for the month of February. 100 km is my challenge. 18th of May 2018 was a shocking day for me when I suffered a On 18th May 2018 I suffered a Cardiac arrest at home. My wife and my sister in law amazingly with CPR kept me alive until the Ambulance crew arrived. They were all life-savers. The Cardiac surgeons in CUH And the after care team gave me world class treatment. The Irish Heart Foundation deserve all the support we can give it.

Super encouragement

Wednesday 7th Jan
I am so grateful to those who have donated already. The 100 km will be completed in February. As of now I am just beginning to in crease my fitness by exercising and walking briskly a few times a week in January. I didn't jog yet. I am 71 but in reasonable condition.

Thank you to my Sponsors
