Help Protect Hearts in Ireland

I am taking part in 12 Dips in December to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Why I’m Taking on the 12 Dips in December Challenge for the Irish Heart Foundation

There’s something a bit wild about willingly stepping into freezing cold water in the middle of winter — and doing it not once, but 12 times! But that’s exactly what I’ve signed up for this December, and I couldn’t be more excited (and slightly terrified).

The 12 Dips in December challenge is all about braving the cold for a great cause — raising awareness and funds for the Irish Heart Foundation, who do incredible work supporting heart health and preventing cardiovascular disease across Ireland. It’s a fun, slightly mad way to remind ourselves how lucky we are to have healthy hearts — and to help those who need extra care and support.

Why I’m Doing It

For me, this challenge is about more than just the cold water. It’s about pushing myself, connecting with others, and giving back. The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission really hits home — we all know someone affected by heart disease or stroke, and taking part in this challenge feels like a small but meaningful way to make a difference.

It’s also about gratitude — for health, community, and those small, life-affirming moments that come from doing something a little uncomfortable for a good cause.

The Fun Part: Finding Creative Ways to Dip

To keep things interesting (and maybe a bit less painful!), I’m planning to find fun and unusual ways to take my dips throughout December. Some ideas on the list:

A sunrise dip to start the day right ☀️

A festive Santa-hat swim 🎅

An icy barrel dip in the garden ❄️

A group dip with friends (strength in numbers!)

Maybe even a dip in fancy dress — who knows?

It’s all about having fun, embracing the madness, and celebrating community spirit.

Join Me or Support the Cause

If you’ve ever thought about cold-water dipping, December is the perfect time to give it a go. You can join the challenge yourself, or simply support by donating to my fundraiser — every euro helps the Irish Heart Foundation continue their vital work.

So here’s to cold water, warm hearts, and making a splash for a great cause this December ❤️
