Running for the Hearts that Can't
I am taking part in RUN 100 to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️ As I am now almost 6 months along the road to full recovery after my bypass surgery, I intend to walk the 100km in February. If I burst in to a jog or run along the way, that'll be a bonus. 😀
The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.
Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.
Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

Another 5km walk this morning
Saturday 18th Jan A grey but pleasant morning for a walk here in Wexford. My pace per kilometer was better this morning, 5 1/2 weeks after my triple bypass surgery than it was in April, 3 months before my heart attack. Maybe that's a telling story ! Onwards and upwards. Friday 17th Jan A nice walk today and thanks to the skills of the surgeons and medical team in The Mater Hospital my old ticker and it's refurbished pipework is doing a great job. Very happy with the average pace per kilometer, very close to what it was before my bypass surgery 5 1/2 months ago. ShareLunchtime walk.

So happy to hear that you’re making a full recovery! I lost my mom in 2001 to heart disease and I usually walk each year for the American Heart Association in her memory. I’m happy to support this organization in your honor as well! Hope to see you one day soon!
