Help Protect Hearts in Ireland
I am taking part in Arctic Challenge to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️
The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.
Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.
Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

Training Day 2
Monday 24th Nov
Today’s second official training hike pushed us into exactly the kind of conditions we need to be ready for in the Arctic: cold winds, muddy terrain, rocky climbs, and long stretches of sustained effort.
We focused on the fundamentals that matter when the environment turns hostile:
• Layering systems — managing heat properly and avoiding sweat build-up that becomes dangerous in sub-zero temperatures.
• Heat control — learning when to add or remove layers to stay efficient.
• Stamina and pacing — keeping output steady across rough, technical ground.
• Mindset and resilience — staying mentally available to keep going even when energy dips.
It wasn’t meant to be comfortable — it was meant to be real preparation. These sessions build the resilience, awareness, and physical readiness required when we hit the Arctic in 2026.
I’m taking on this challenge to support the Irish Heart Foundation, whose work saves lives and supports families across the country. If you’d like to back the cause, any contribution is genuinely appreciated and goes directly toward heart health, prevention, and education efforts.
Proud of the team, grateful for the guidance, and ready for the next step forward.
