13 days and counting till first dip … December 1st

Such a good cause

Thursday 14th Nov Back in the 80’s my dad got a headache on January 6th , I remember it was little Christmas and we’re heading off to my friends house for a special dinner , dad lay on the sofa and said he could go he had a head ache , my brother rang my aunty Chris and dad was taken away in an ambulance I can’t begin to explain the fear we had as we only had dad left , mam was taken years before . Anyway dad had a tumor removed from his heart by a Professor named Mr Horgan in the Mater hospital , one of only seven successful procedure of its kind in the world at that time( or so the story went )  . It was on recovery that the Irish heart foundation became a chosen choice of charity for the family from whom I’ve bought Christmas cards every year since , but they are fading out and only a handful of the amount I used to send get sent now. This year I’m taking a different tact for a small amount of fundraising and I’m doing the 12 dips in December , so please wish me luck and maybe donate the price of a coffee if you can to this wonderful charity, the research they do will hopefully help people we love live longer lives. ♥️  Share
