Running for the Hearts that Can't

I am taking part in RUN 100 to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

Only 4 days left ..

Tuesday 24th Feb

4 days left and I’m still pounding the streets 💪 Hoping this motivation sticks — loving the “me time” and the distraction 🚶‍♀️✨

Who am I?

Saturday 21st Feb

Only one day off walking this month. One.

Who is she? Because honestly… I’m impressed.

I’ve covered so much distance already and I’m not even slowing down. Yes, I’ve got a ridiculously busy week ahead. Yes, life is life-ing. And yes, I will still be getting my steps in. We don’t cancel on ourselves anymore.

The best part? I feel amazing.

Not just physically — although we love the stamina, we love the glow, we love the “summer is coming and I’m ready” energy — but mentally too. There’s something powerful about knowing you showed up for yourself consistently. That quiet confidence hits different.

With summer holidays around the corner, I’m holding onto this momentum. Walking has become my reset, my therapy, my main-character soundtrack moment. And if I can keep even half this consistency going forward? Unstoppable.

Hot girl summer?

No.

Disciplined, glowing, mentally-clear summer. 💅✨

Every single step counts!

Tuesday 17th Feb

Had company for today’s walk — my mam joined me 💁‍♀️

Pace? Slower than usual.

Complaints? None.

Because every single step still counts 👏

Not every walk has to be a speed trial. Sometimes it’s a social event with bonus kilometres attached.

All going well I’ll head out again later on my own to pick up the pace and remind the legs who’s boss 😉

Rainy walk AGAIN!!

Thursday 12th Feb

Quick dash out this afternoon… in the rain AGAIN 🌧️ At this stage I’m expecting Noah’s Ark to sail past me any minute — two dogs of every kind and all 🐶🐶

6km splashed out before glam time and an evening with the pals 💃 Priorities: steps first, prosecco second! 🍾

A muddy one today

Monday 9th Feb
Tiny, slow, very muddy stroll today — channeling my inner George from Peppa Pig… wobble, splash, chaos and all! 🦖😏

Sea walk

Saturday 7th Feb

Still not running on full battery today 🔋 so I took myself for a slow “sea-therapy shuffle” 🌊

Turns out the waves are doing more crashing than I am! Someday I’ll live by the sea — until then I’ll just keep stalking it on foot 😄

Not feeling it today ..

Friday 6th Feb

Today’s “training” looked less like a marathon and more like an episode of Operation Dump Run 🚛😂

Between hauling boxes from the new fridge, oven and combi oven to civic amenity, playing electrician’s assistant to my very patient friend, and then standing in my kitchen staring at the new oven like it was speaking another language… let’s just say steps were not the priority 🤯🤣

Not feeling 100% today, so I’m calling the 2km a small but mighty win! Tomorrow is a fresh start 💪✨

Almost 1/2 way

Thursday 5th Feb

Already nearly at the halfway mark — and I’m not stopping there! 💪👟 I’ll be clocking up the kilometres all month, so watch this space to see what my final total ends up being!

A huge heartfelt thank you to everyone who has donated so far — your support means more to me than you know. 💛

GRMA,

Amanda

February

Saturday 31st Jan
In February I’ll be completing 100km in aid of the Irish Heart Foundation, an organisation that means a great deal to me.

My mam underwent heart valve replacements in October 2003 and had a pacemaker fitted in December 2023. My dad also suffered with heart complications, and his second anniversary falls on 3rd February.

This challenge is very close to my heart, and I’d love to raise some much-needed funds to support the incredible work the Irish Heart Foundation does for families like mine.

If you’re in a position to donate, even a small amount would mean so much, or if you want to keep me company on my 100km that would be great too!
Thank you all in advance for your support — it truly means the world to me.
