Dip 11 - December 11th - Secret Beach

Monday 15th Dec Oh the joys of trekking through the forest in the dark. This dip almost did me in but not because of the water, no no. because I am very unsteady on my feet and extra so when the ground is slippy. Ended up tripping and badly hurting my elbow. But we survive so move on to Dip 12. woohoo Share

Dip 10 - December 10th - O'Sullivan's Cascade

Monday 15th Dec Possibly the most fun dip we've had. we were joined by Muireann's family to go on a lil walk to go to O'Sullivans Cascade so Muireann's mam could laugh at us for her birthday. I hope you had a great time watching our craziness Noreen. I did accidentally give mini heart attacks to those in attendance at the dip as I was struck in the chest by the water and stayed under longer than planned. It's a good thing I'm a strong swimmer tho and made it back to surface with only a small coughing fit and minimal water in my lung. oh the joys. anywhosal, onto the next. xoxo Share

Dip 9 - December 9th - Muckross Lake

Monday 15th Dec Storm Bram proved a bit of a hindrance to our next sea swim but we pivoted and went to a lake instead. We were also joined by another special guest, Gearoid who put Muireann and I both to shame with how much he bossed his way through the freezing lake. But as you can see, we were well prepared in case it decided to rain on us again. lol Share

Dip 8 - December 8th - Kellsbeach

Monday 8th Dec I think the cold water is getting to us at this stage. haha. We had a fabulous time watching the tide come in and crash over the pier. This was more of a struggle swim though as the waves were very strong. Wouldn't recommend if you're not a strong swimmer. Muireann and I ended up giving a poor woman a mini heart attack with our shenanigans of jumping off the pier for dip eight. She came down asking what we were doing and if we were mad. Maybe we are a little but for a good cause so I think it cancels itself out. lol. Share

Dip 7 - December 7th - Cromane

Monday 8th Dec This dip did not go according to plan. We thought we would get to dip into Rossbeigh. However, Rossbeigh is taking an absolute battering at the moment, while still lovely to look at, it did not look safe to dip in. So we returned to the tried and true from dip one, Cromane. The water was very super nippy. We ran into a few other Irish Heart Foundation dippers so that was fun. We also spoke to a local lady who swims multiple times a week all year round. We had just finished our dip and had warmed up but got cold all over again just looking at her splashing. We aspire to be like her. We got to watch the sun dip below the horizon. I think this may have been one of my favourite dips (even if I had to do it twice since our camera lady did not record the first one. lol) Share

Dip 6 - December 6th - Garryvoe, Cork

Monday 8th Dec For this dip we were joined by a super special guest friend, Patrick. He suggested Garryvoe up in East Cork. It was very very salty but a lovely dip. Share

Dip 5 - December 5th - Lake

Monday 8th Dec Coldest yet. Took me a very long time to feel brave enough to dip. Share

Dip 4 - December 4th - Flaven's Beach

Thursday 4th Dec This was positively the coldest yet. My teeth are still chattering. Share

Dip 3 - December 3rd - Ballybunion

Wednesday 3rd Dec The current tried to take us out but we won. We're a lil cold but viiiiibbbbiiiinnnngggggg. Ho ho ho. Share

Dip 2 - December 2nd - Inch

Tuesday 2nd Dec Inch was positively freezing this morning. My guy my thumbs were so painful from how cold they were.  Share

Dip 1 - December 1st - Cromane

Monday 1st Dec Ok, so this dip did not go as planned in the slightest. lol. Muir and I were meant to go for a sunrise dip but I have been taken down by some kind of illness. I am not feeling funky, fun or fresh. My body is in bits and so this morning I was not able. Muir was a trooper and went and had a lovely dip. The water and the viiibbbbeeees this morning in Cromane looked immaculate. I was so jealous.  Share
