12 Dips in December 2025 - Supported by Daybreak

Help Protect Hearts in Ireland

I am taking part in 12 Dips in December to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

Saturday 20th Dec
Vico Baths Killiney. Beautiful morning for it. Then realising. I'm the only girl and I'm not naked. After doing the long walk down the steps I did my swim. Bill however joined the rest of the men about and went in the nip. Burrrrrrr

Friday 19th Dec
Cathole Falls - this was a completly new dicovery. At first when we arrived we thought the water looked to rapid to enter. But low and behold a women entered before us. We took the option of never letting go of the ladder. But yes. Yes this was cold.

Monday 15th Dec
Lough Sheelin evening swim. Didn't stay in long as the sun was setting. But was joined in the water briefly by swans and ducks. Until my wonderful dog Odin decided to join in and frightened the wildlife away.

Sunday 14th Dec
Glendalough Lake Upper Back to the place Bill proposed to me. Always find love and peace here. This is a place to try wash away any stresses of the day. This is one of the places you have to wade out far to get some dept. Cold but St Kevin's Pool still takes the award for coldest dip so far. Thanks for everyones support so far.

Saturday 13th Dec
The Cove Greystones - night swim Believe it or not this was one of the warmest dips. We had to out pretty far to get deep enough water to dunk into. So yes we are the two small dots in the pictures. HALF WAY yeah!!!!!

Thursday 11th Dec
The beautiful St Kevin's Pool. Probably one of the highest and most remote locations to swim in Wicklow. A lovely walk to reach we came across bridges and a heard of deer. It was peaceful and cold, yes this was cold. On to the next one.

Monday 8th Dec
Travelahawk Beach This was an amazing swimming spot. Not one we have ever been to before. As it was the weekend we took the kids along and surprisingly they got into the water too. The hard part was doing it with all the tourists taking picture's at the castle above (probably thinking were some mad Irish ppl to be swimming in the sea in this weather).

Thursday 4th Dec
Magheramore Beach So far we have been representing Wicklownian swimming spots. We may keep up the trend if we find enough spots. Tomorrow we will have reached the 1/4 way. Today was a lovely day but I honestly couldn't feel me toes for a bit at one point.

Wednesday 3rd Dec
Dip into the very chilly Glencee river. This one was cold and poor auld Bill had to do a second dip as he forgot to wear his hat first go. Beautiful rainbow 🌈 in the morning sky.

Help a heart ❤️

Tuesday 2nd Dec
Each year we do our part at Christmas. This year we have chosen to help the Irish Heart Foundation. 1 in 4 people in Ireland will die from a heart related illness. This year, I am going to do 12 dips in different locations to help raise much needed funds. Our team 'frozen assets' would appreciate your input in fundraising. As every little helps :)
