My name is Gabby and I am taking part in the Arctic Challenge to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation!


A little bit of background on me! I am a Cork native and a third year medical student in UCC. I first came across the Irish Heart Foundation whilst researching a project on cardiovascular disease for my university work! Some of the statistics I discovered while conducting this research really shocked me, and the more I learnt about the Irish Heart Foundation's vital and lifesaving work, the more I wanted to do something to help!


So I called up my good friend and fellow medical student Trisha and we signed up for the Arctic Challenge together! ❤️


The Arctic Challenge is a fundraiser held by the Irish Heart Foundation and involves a gruelling 8 day trek in the Finnish Wilderness 250km above the Arctic Circle! (in minus 30 degree weather none the less!) I will be embarking upon this challenge alongside 14 other incredible women from around Ireland (and Mike of course!). We will depart for Finland on March 16th 2026! As a part of this challenge we are raising funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I would love your support in this endeavour! ❤️


The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Hi a chairde!

I just wanted post a quick update to say how grateful we are for the support of the people of Mallow over these past few weeks! Your kindness and generosity has been beyond belief! Thank you so much to everyone who donated to one of our fundraisers or stopped to have a chat! Everyone expressed such genuine interest in the Arctic Challenge! Thank you also to all those who shared their own experiences with cardiovascular disease and with the Irish Heart Foundation! It really helps us appreciate the importance of the fundraising that we are doing!

Bucket Collection outside Supervalu Mallow

Thank you to everyone who came out to support us on what was a very wet Saturday this past weekend outside Supervalu Mallow. We are delighted to have raised an incredible €1,767.18 in total! A big thank you also to Tina who facilitated our fundraiser!

Valentines Bucket Collection in Lidl Mallow

Love was certainly in the air this Valentines weekend when we went out to do our bucket collection in Lidl Mallow! A massive, massive thank you to everyone who donated! We raised an amazing €2,519.64 in total!! A huge thank you to Manager David who was so generous to allow us to hold our fundraiser! We are so grateful for all the support we have recieved!
