12 Dips in December 2025 - Supported by Daybreak

Help Protect Hearts in Ireland

I am taking part in 12 Dips in December to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

My Updates

#12: That's it, on an unseasonably sunny - but woow windy day.

Wednesday 24th Dec
It's official, it was warmer today in the water than outside of it...but only due to the wind chill factor! Glad to have done this, so thanks to Colm for bringing it to my attention.

#11: Almost there - the sea remains rough, but fun.

Tuesday 23rd Dec

#10: A very rough sea today, but the temperature was lovely and stayed in as long as the waves would let me.

Tuesday 23rd Dec
Dip was done yesterday, but only uploaded today.

#9: Not bad, got to stay in a while today...but feel it now that I am out of the water

Sunday 21st Dec

#8: That actually was not pleasant at all!

Friday 19th Dec
First time while wading in I actually considered jumping over a wave rather than have it hit me...but still got in!

#7: Brrr...but nice!

Friday 19th Dec
Late upload forgot to do it.

#6: Cold today, very 🥶

Wednesday 17th Dec

#5: Really pleasant actually

Sunday 14th Dec
Wish I could have stayed in longer, but family waiting to do a shop. So it was more of a dip, and lounge for about a minute today.

#4: Solo dip, wild sea and a long walk...get those steps in.

Thursday 11th Dec
I remember feeling there was a lot more WE used in the planning to do this...looking at the messages it turns out not. So off the hook colm 😅

#3: Walk to Wales

Wednesday 10th Dec
It was a lovely morning (except for the wind). We decided to do the swim in the morning to avoid impact on the working day...but nature had other ideas, tide was fully out...long long long walk, and then the sand banks meant an even longer walk. Eventually we got our heads under - but I think we learnt some Welsh out there too.

#2: Wooow! Looked like it would be nicer today...

Saturday 6th Dec
...looks can be deceiving, and were in this case.

#1: Committment

Friday 5th Dec
Down in Kelly's Resort - weather less than ideal. But need to get a dip in today to stay on track - it was rough and cold suffice to say.

Why I am doing this...

Wednesday 26th Nov
I am doing this for three reasons:

1) Someone thought it would be a good idea, and sent it to me, cause they think I am equally insane.

2) Cause it will raise money for a worthy cause that impacts people in our communities everyday.

3) The hat!

So there you go, oh and the forth one, sure what else would i be doing!

Thank you to my Sponsors

Sure you're the best fella I have ever met, and any joke or miss-representation of you I may have done in the past was in both poor taste and pure error! Thanks for being so great.
