RUN 100

Running for the Hearts that Can't

I am taking part in RUN 100 to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

My Story

Friday 31st Jan
February 1st marks exactly 10 months since the most scary day in my life. I woke on 1st April 2024 to realise something was really wrong with me, difficulty speaking, poor coordination and balance, a very noticeable weakness on my left side and my left hand felt like it wasn’t mine.
Being so young I had no idea what was happening. Quickly after arriving in hospital, Doctors told me I had suffered a stroke. So traumatic from being transferred to the Stroke Unit(I don’t think I will ever forget this feeling), waiting on all the medical tests, all tests and exams to determine if I would be would left with any deficits.
Massive thanks to all my family and friends especially Mam, Dad, B and Pedro who came to hold my hand at the million appointments that ensued, I’ve made a full recovery. I couldn’t have done it without them all by my side. Strokes and heart attacks can happen to anyone. For me, it was completely unexplainable with absolutely no pre-existing or underlying risk factors. I was completely healthy and still suffered a stroke.
So I feel it so important to try my best to help other people that have or may in the future find themselves suffering from strokes or heart attacks.
Pedro and I are taking part in the 100km challenge for February RUN 100 in February 2025 to raise vital funds for the Irish Heart Foundation. We would be so grateful if you could spare a euro or two to sponsor us to raise much needed funds to help make people’s recovery a little easier. Thanks so much

Fair play for raising awareness by being so open and honest to help other people. Your story sounded so scary glad you made a full recovery. Well done for doing the challenge
