Walking for the Hearts that Can't- for my patients, my colleagues,my family-every little bit goes a long way.

I am taking part in 10,000 steps a Day in September to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

Many of you know I work in ccu in Sligo so I see first hand the effects that heart disease and stroke have on many families. So I am doing this walk for those patients, and for all my wonderful colleagues(past and present) and for my biggest supporters- my family. We never know when we will need help so every little bit goes a long way

Day 4

Thursday 4th Sep
Today I dedicate my 10000 steps to my eldest daughter Sarah
She puts her heart and soul into staying fit and healthy for playing gaelic . It's great to see that mindset in a young adult.

Day 3

Wednesday 3rd Sep
Today was hard to get the steps in but I managed it and today I dedicate it to my son Shane. Shane has a great love for all sports and knowledge about health. His fav show was operation ouch.. maybe a doctor or nurse In his future.. maybe he will continue the research into heart disease... Who knows what the future will bring..

Day 2

Tuesday 2nd Sep
Day 2 walk was a walk in the forest with my 2 baby girls. And while this walk was a slow walk mixed with some running, skipping and searching for fairies I feel it helps Instill a good healthy outlook  for my kids. The walk was good for our bodies and minds and was lots of fun..

Day 1.

Monday 1st Sep
Today's steps were for my daughter Niamh. She started school this week. Having 5 wonderful kids (4 girls and a boy) I am hopeful that heart disease recognition and treatment will continue to improve. I try to encourage heart health for my kids by trying to improve myself. Lead by example !!!!
