One Dip Done and no frostbite yet. 

We dipped, we laughed, we pretended to be “hardcore”, and we survived Day 1 without turning into ice pops — a strong start for two cousins who normally complain when the shower is lukewarm.

If every dip is this kind, we might even start enjoying ourselves.

Icy Waters, Mighty Hearts. Two Cushens, Twelve Dips — Freezin' for a Reason.

Hey everyone,

We’re Joanne and Ciara, two cousins who love a challenge… and apparently, cold water! This December, we’re taking on 12 Dips in December — twelve icy plunges to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation. ❄️💪

This challenge is incredibly personal to us. Having lost two men in our families at just 66 and 48 to heart disease and sudden heart attack has made the work of the Irish Heart Foundation very close to our hearts. ❤️

The charity does incredible work: life-saving CPR training, research, and support for families living with heart disease or stroke. It affects so many people in our communities, and no one knows when they might need that support.

So, we’ve decided to face freezing waters head-on, one dip at a time. Our plan? Brave the cold, share the chaos on Instagram, and hopefully survive to tell the tale. Bonus points if someone different joins us each day — because misery loves company! 😅
