Help Protect Hearts in Ireland

I am taking part in 12 Dips in December to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Live Like Leonard 🤍

Sunday 16th Nov

This December, I'm taking part in the Irish Heart Foundation’s ‘12 Dips in December’ challenge in memory of my Grandad, Leonard Keogh ❤️

In July 2023, Leonard suffered a serious cardiac arrest. Already living with heart disease and recovering from a stroke, this was another huge challenge. Soon after, tests revealed stomach cancer. What followed was a difficult journey of surgery, rehabilitation, remission, a terminal diagnosis, chemotherapy and radiotherapy. In the end, cancer took our beloved Grandad from us ❤️‍🩹

This will be our families first Christmas without him. The Irish Heart Foundation provided staff in the hospital such an important role in supporting our family after Leonard’s cardiac arrest, guidance and compassion gave us hope and, most importantly, more precious time together.

Though we lost him to cancer, that extra time, 13 beautiful months, was a gift. More stories, more laughs, and more memories we’ll cherish forever 💛

Every freezing dip this December is for Leonard, for his strength, his smile, his humour, his resilience and of course there was nothing like my grandads unique Saturday night fever 🪩
