Walking for the Hearts that Can't

I am taking part in 10,000 steps a Day in September to raise funds for the Irish Heart Foundation and I’d love your support to help protect hearts in Ireland. ❤️

The Irish Heart Foundation’s mission is to eliminate preventable death and disability from heart disease and stroke and to support and care for those living with these life-changing conditions.

Your donation will make a real difference to people and families affected by heart disease and stroke.

Thank you for visiting my page and for your support.

8,500 Steps 13th Sept 2025

Friday 19th Sep
So, I had a great day walking on Saturday 13th Sept 2025..
8,535+ Steps out in the open!

The weather forecast had said it would rain, so I was only going to do a few minutes walking. But the weather was good, till I decided to go home.

This was my best day. My normal daily target is 6,000. I will keep at it..

A Habit of Walking.

Saturday 13th Sep
I started walking because I was ill a few years ago, and became a Walk Group Leader, trained by the Irish Heart Foundation. Then, life issues created disruptions, and shortly after, we all witnessed the life disruption of Covid-19 (2019-2021), and after-affects

But, over this past year, I became more focused, though I still don't do daily walks. The aim is for a HEALTHY HEART, and avoid major health setbacks especially triggered by BadAss blood issues like DIABETES.

Today, my Step Counter Pedometer reminded me I've been walking for 393 days.. TIME DOES FLY.. BUT YOU NEED THAT VERY 1st STEP🚶‍♂️🚶‍♂️

Gosh! I prefer my Step Walker

Thursday 11th Sep
I'm using Step Walker Pedometer and just figured out how to upload screenshots to my page. Its 1.31am now. I will do that later today, and continue from there..

I actually downloaded one of the Apps in Irish Heart Foundation portal, but, I'm not used to it. I will figure it out, but for now, I will stick to my Step Counter Pedometer which works well for me🚶‍♂️🚶🏽‍♀️

Adding Lifting Weights to Walking

Tuesday 26th Aug
After signing up for the 10,000 Walk challenge, I picked up a couple of 12kg weights from Aldi.
At 64, the maximum I've walked is 10,000 steps. My target has always been, and will remain 6,000 steps 🚶‍♀️🙂

However, for this challenge, after achieving my daily 6,000 steps, I aim to lift my 24kg for 3 days each week, now and going forward.

Why am I doing this challenge? For my own heart health and bodys fitness. It's great to be able to raise funds for such a great cause  while staying fit,
