SVRA Run Club Social 5k

Saturday 14th Feb
Joined the SVRA Run Club for their social 5k evening run, 5.41 km in 28:08 at 5:12/km pace, The lads, far more experienced runners, shared valuable tips on nutrition, recovery, and pacing that I’ll integrate into my training.

Phone died at 9.6km

Saturday 14th Feb
I set out to run a 10km and ran through heavy rain, my phone died at 9.6km and I was convinced the run didn’t save, luckily Strava saved it when the phone turned back on,

Strava Tracking Error

Saturday 14th Feb
This run was done on the UL indoor running track which caused a glitch and Strava logged 10km instead of 8km which automatically uploaded to the fundraiser so I owe an additional 2km

Recovery Run

Saturday 14th Feb
I was advised by much more experienced runners to slow down so I maintained a 6.03/km pace for this run, the slower pace reduced the strain on my hip

10k #3

10k’s have become a lot more manageable despite the hip pain flaring up again, 10.02km in 55:18 5:31/km

Second Run Today

Saturday 7th Feb
Evening follow-up to this morning’s 10K. 4.03 km in Limerick at solid 4:49/km pace, despite heavy legs. recovery is needed: ice bath and sauna booked for the morning.

2nd 10k PR: Sub 5 min/km pace

Saturday 7th Feb
Back in Limerick, completed my second 10km, 10.04 km in 48:36 at 4:50/km pace, thrilled to break sub-5 min/km and set 5 personal bests

Madeira Run 2

Saturday 7th Feb
5.1km Madeira evening run, 26:41 total at 5:10km pace, the heat made this run particularly difficult

Madeira Hill Run

Saturday 7th Feb
Tough but rewarding Holiday run in Funchal, Madeira 4.91 km through steep hills and endless steps. 28:04 total time at 5:42/km pace, with 85m elevation gain that tested every muscle.

First ever 10km run

Saturday 7th Feb
My first ever 10km run down the Shannon fields around UL and back. Managed to Maintain a 5:02/km pace, I am very surprised at how far my fitness has come along in 3 weeks since I started training.
